IMS manufactures the CLOUDBURST range of fire fighting buckets. The CLOUDBURST range has unique features not found in any other fire buckets known to IMS.
Features;
Compact design when stowed and handled
Multi drop ability
Fast valve actuation speed
Variation in spread pattern
Pneumatic valve operation
Very tough and durable construction
Filling and discharge speed
The pilot can vary the volume of each load
Enclosed foam dosing system
Comes complete with carry bag
The corrosion resistant stainless steel valve and valve body as well as the lift plates on top of the bucket and the collapsible ring will withstand high levels of abrasion and the various water sources used to fight fires. For example, it can be dunked into rivers, lakes, saltwater or even chlorinated swimming pools. The bucket is made of tough and durable urethane an industry recognised super material that is tough and flexible. It is strong, load bearing, and impact resistant while also able to withstand high operating temperatures. This same material is used by the US Navy and US Coastguard because it is non-marking, has good UV stabilization and strongly resists the growth of algae and fungus.
IMS also offer an upgrade to a self inflating pneumatic ring on 880 litre buckets and larger. This reduces weight and decreases assembly time. The ring holds the bucket open during the dunking process enabling a rapid fill every time.
The Cloudburst Fire Buckets can put it together in no time at all and don’t need any specialised tools.
The Cloudburst incorporates a self contained foam injection system which is activated by a simple push button, a pump will deliver the foaming agent for a timed period. This time is determinded by the pilot or crew. When they are ready to dispense foam they will press the button to commence the time operation of the pump.
The Cloudburst’s fast valve actuation allows the pilot or crewman to have precise control the load release.
Control over the water capacity and timing of the release is important/necessary when fighting fires from the air. The pilot may need to carry less water due to fuel load or weather conditions, it is also important that the release is fast for safety and efficiency. Having a skirt that is quick and easy to attach means I can chose between two different spread patterns.
There is also the option to choose the single drop pattern version which is becoming quite a popular choice. This creates a straight column of water everytime and can be varied by the height and speed during the release.
The Cloudburst gives the aerial fire fighter a more efficient use of their airtime by using its “multi-drop ability”. This means the pilot or observer has total and precise control of their payload – whether the fire is isolated or scattered.
And whats more, Cloudburst Fire Buckets can be flown fast when empty … up to 100knots! This means a quicker turn around and happier clients.
CLOUDBURST fire buckets are available in a range of capacities to suit various needs.
